Material Planner - Operations Department
Job Purpose:
Based on sales forecast and current inventory levels, plans for future inventory purchases and coordinates purchases with buyer. Responsible for reviewing stock to sales ratios, responding to changing sales trends, and ensuring planned sales are achieved.
Duties:
· Plans future inventory purchases based on sales forecast and inventory stock levels, both for finished goods and raw materials.
· Coordinates with buyer on maintaining required in stock levels.
· Coordinates with engineering on development and monitoring of raw material requirements database based on individual product specifications (BOMs).
· Develops and implements production and manufacturing schedules.
· Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for inventory planning processes.
· Interacts with Netsuite MRP system to accomplish duties, to automate inventory planning procedures, and to perform purchase order receipts and inventory transfers.
· Monitors in-transit purchase orders and provide ETAs for those orders by utilizing freight forwarder’s tracking reports and on-line portals.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Three years experience in inventory planning within a retail-packaged goods manufacturing company.
· Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or other related discipline.
· Experience with business software including MRP and inventory control processes.
· Bilingual English and Spanish highly desirable.
· Understanding of retail sales terms and processes.
· High proficiency in Microsoft Excel with data analysis. Database experience helpful.
· Cross functional work experience and ability to generate answers from multiple and variant inputs.
· High level of attention to detail.
