Joined by three other new cosmic color variations of our road-tested SeeThru case line, purple, aqua and green, Hazard Orange surpasses hard shell technology with it’s futuristic, edge-lit color & glow!

Radiating like a highway in headlights, the luminous edges and shockingly stellar orange tint on this one-of-a-kind case is sure to turn as many heads as the General Lee while keeping your MacBook snug and protected.

But, like a insaneo-looking bright orange train passing in the night, Hazard Orange is available for a limited time, exclusively at www.apple.com and www.speckproducts.com.

Our Spexy Take On NYC Fashion Week!

With only a day remaining of this year’s Bryant Park extravaganza, the air of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has hit a high note around the country, wafting all the way from New York to our humble offices in downtown Palo Alto.

Sadly, with so much on the rise here at Speck, we couldn’t be torn from our desks long enough this year to sit with the likes of Paris Hilton and Puff Daddy to witness Justin Timberlake bring “sexy back” with his new William Rast line. No, in place of tents and champagne, we had reverted to the best alternatives we can think of; scanning the fashion blogs during stolen moments, “runway walking” from customer service to accounting, and brazenly critiquing each others ensembles.

One of our favorite fashion sites to sneak a look at incrementally during the day is The Satorialist, in which Scott Schuman rambles NYC, documenting the real-life runway of the concrete sidewalks. While we stand impressed by the class these city-slickers radiate, we can’t help but add our two cents to some of these outfits…

This woman is looking sophisticated in a faux Chinchilla wrap, thigh-high boots and tweed skirt, but shows her inclination toward funky flair with an oversized blue clutch. To top off this outfit, we recommend two of our products. A colorful FD&C Blue Pixelskin case for her nano for Podcast listening while she walks to her local coffee haunt, where she will highlight her individuality with a sleek, black SeeThru Satin case.

The men in our office are going gaga over this guy’s gear. Exuding the air of Carey Grant, this man’s pairing of bomber jacket, khakis, scarf and Peter Parker frames scream “hot nerd.” Extra bonus points for the “retro” film camera he is using. Definitely a classic look. If we had the opportunity to whisper sweet nothings into his ear, we would passionately tell him he needs to wrap his iPhone in a Herringbone Fitted Case. Because you know despite his retro outfit, this dude’s not carrying a pager.

Now, you know most kids these days can work the technology better than we can, and if this young man know as much about his iPod as he does about style, he’s top of the class in our book. Note the Van’s Half Cabs matched with tapered jeans, Van’s checkered shirt and fedora. He tops it all with a white blazer: to homeschool the tyke would be a fashion travesty. You know living in NYC, the kid has got to have an iPhone. For this budding fashionisto, we recommend some sweet protection with a Key Lime Jawbreaker CandyShell Case. No texting in class now kiddo! KTHXBYE!

Lastly, this man is clearly a proFRESHional. Simple lines, sans scarf, topped with a youthful Jonas Brothers-style cut, he could either be going to London to play rhythm guitar with The Verve or to the Trump Tower to present a million dollar ad campaign. But that bag does not look fitting for laptop transport, to our eyes. Whether he is carrying lyrics or paperwork, this guy clearly needs a Coffeehouse Plaid CorePack, for safe, high-fashion toting of his MacBook.

We have a feeling that you know a thing or two about Spexy fashion too! Send photo evidence to amy@speckproducts.com showing us how you accessorize with Speck stuff, and be featured on our blog!

Happy President’s Day! USA! USA!

barack_macbookseethru

As we commemorate President’s Day this year, here at Speck we couldn’t be happier to show off this picture of President Barack Obama, snapped hard at work on his MacBook, shown here stylishly encased in one of our clear SeeThru shells.

We have a feeling that the care and finesse our 44th President puts into taking care of his equipment is a reflection of the commitment and intelligence that he brings to the job of leading of our country. Our hearts are brimming with pride and patriotism.

He even has it customized with a cool Pac Man sticker. What a guy!

Amazing iGuy stop-motion animation!

How cool is this animation featuring Speck’s famous iGuy! Excellent work, ariel22 of youtube… this movie starring iGuy is so specktacular, it makes us hopeful to see some more iGuy inspired fan art and creative masterpieces… hint hint!

Protect the one you love!

vday-blog

I heart my cell phone.

Protect beloved electronics (and the electronics of the ones you love) this Valentines Day and get 25% off most  black, red, purple and pink cases!

Of course, I also love my family, friends, pets, home and car. But I reeeallly love my phone. My cell phone sings to me. It wakes my up in the morning. Writes emails for me. Does business with me. Takes pictures. Maps my route. It has a great style; cool-looking buttons and a bright, shiny screen. It’s my companion, petite enough to carry around with me wherever I go. So far, it’s been very trustworthy.

This phone is actually not my first. I’ve had many.

ex_phones

And they keep getting better and better…

One time I had an old phone that got depressed and jumped out of my pocket. Guess I wasn’t giving it the love it deserved. I accidentally ran it over with my bike. It hung onto life for a couple of days, then, nothing. I softly closed it up and gave it a proper burial, in a box addressed to AT&T.

I was sorry to see that one go…

That wasn’t the only unstable phone relationship I’ve had. I though my next hookup was going to last, we were getting along just fine… Then, we were about to leave the house to go shopping, and I forgot something inside. That phone got so frustrated with my constant forgetfulness, it jumped right out of my pocket while I was running back in. The timing of that phone’s fall was just so. It fell right on my shoe and I accidentally kicked right into the side of my house. I was sad to see that one go.

In six months last year, I went through six phones. It made me question myself; what am I doing wrong?

I’ve learned one thing throughout these relationships. That love is fleeting, and so are phones. That is why I’ve learned how to treat my phone right, with the proper attire for my turbulent lifestyle. In the winter, I drape it in a Fitted winter coat. Summertime? A Spexy SeeThru number.

But the real reason I love my phone so much, care to preserve it, and carry it around with me always is because it connects me with the people I love in my life.

What exactly is Speck the Meat?!

speck-meat-iphone

Speck the meat was one of the great mystery meats of my mind for many years. I was intrigued, but didn’t know exactly what it was. A recent Flickr query for “speck iPhone” turned up this rad photo, and I was compelled to find out what kind of meat Speck the Meat really was.

According to Wikipedia.com: In the English speaking culinary world, “Speck” refers to Italian speck, a type of prosciutto, rather than German speck, which is identical to the Italian “lardo”. The term “speck” became part of popular parlance only in the eighteenth century and replaced the older term “bachen”, a cognate of “bacon”.

Right on. So it’s actually TWO different kinds of meat. Go Speck!

(Thank you Amici del giovedì’s Flicrk photostream for the great photo!)
