SeeThru Cases Help Diminish Rugby Stereotypes!
Here in the US, Rugby is definitely popular in some circles and cities, but across the pond and beyond, the rough sport holds as much or more prominence in popular culture as hamburgers and hot dogs do at a summertime barbecue!
Rugby, however, has suffered from negative stereotyping, as players fend off a long-standing reputation as violent, alcohol-fueled brutes. Much has been done, and is happening currently to battle these aging stereotypes.

Subtlety… maybe not the “spice” of life, but important nonetheless.
In one sense, we wouldn’t say we’re masters of the art here at Speck. More of the opposite, as dedicated fans of bright, happy colors, loud music and louder characters. However, we relish in the importance of a keen eye to detail and precision when it comes to designing the cases we love.

Many may not have noticed a small change in design when the latest Unibody MacBooks were released in June, but in the case-making biz, a small “molehill “such as an added SD card slot can make a “mountain” of difference to our customers. So, thanks to our expert designers, we re-jigged our design so now our SeeThru and SeeThru Satin cases fit snug as they always have, to BOTH versions of the new MacBook and MacBook Pro.
So while we rejoice in personal flair and the vibrance of life, never fear, SeeThru will fit all Unibody (black key) MacBook and MacBook Pros currently on the market. But as we strive for balance, all this detail work makes us want to turn up our music and lean toward the loud. Such as the MacBook case above, which has been kicking around the office as of late…

Our little Speckster Goes to the Big Show!
It’s common knowledge that Speck Products rocks. Our SpeckQuarters in beautiful downtown Palo Alto is never without tunes, and stereo wars between sales and product development are an often occurrence. However, one old-school super-Spexy employee is currently taking her rocker status to a new level this summer, playing drums for her long-time friends The Donnas on the national “Call Me Invincible” tour with Pat Benetar and Blondie!
Admittedly, some are a touch jealous of Amy and her foray into serious rockerdom, we are all out of our minds in excitement for her and excited about living vicariously through our little drummer girl this summer. To send her off in style, we threw a little surprise birthday/bon voyage party for her last week (this month also marks a major b-day milestone for our marketing champion.)
International customer service and one-woman party planning committee Kristy pulled out all the stops as well as the red carpet for the occasion.
This is how Franco struts his stuff.
And this is Amy, the Belle of the Ball, trying hard not to succumb to peer red-carpet walking pressure.
There was quite a spread, featuring a classic office “Amy-isms” spelled out in Falafel balls.
The food didn’t last that long…
And cool prizes- all of Amy’s favorite stuff- handed out to winners of “Amy” trivia by Brent Baer himself!
With a custom banana case and a watermelon sponge, Jia-lin was the big winner of the day, proving that she is an Amy-expert!
