Our Spexy Take On NYC Fashion Week!

With only a day remaining of this year’s Bryant Park extravaganza, the air of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has hit a high note around the country, wafting all the way from New York to our humble offices in downtown Palo Alto.

Sadly, with so much on the rise here at Speck, we couldn’t be torn from our desks long enough this year to sit with the likes of Paris Hilton and Puff Daddy to witness Justin Timberlake bring “sexy back” with his new William Rast line. No, in place of tents and champagne, we had reverted to the best alternatives we can think of; scanning the fashion blogs during stolen moments, “runway walking” from customer service to accounting, and brazenly critiquing each others ensembles.

One of our favorite fashion sites to sneak a look at incrementally during the day is The Satorialist, in which Scott Schuman rambles NYC, documenting the real-life runway of the concrete sidewalks. While we stand impressed by the class these city-slickers radiate, we can’t help but add our two cents to some of these outfits…

This woman is looking sophisticated in a faux Chinchilla wrap, thigh-high boots and tweed skirt, but shows her inclination toward funky flair with an oversized blue clutch. To top off this outfit, we recommend two of our products. A colorful FD&C Blue Pixelskin case for her nano for Podcast listening while she walks to her local coffee haunt, where she will highlight her individuality with a sleek, black SeeThru Satin case.

The men in our office are going gaga over this guy’s gear. Exuding the air of Carey Grant, this man’s pairing of bomber jacket, khakis, scarf and Peter Parker frames scream “hot nerd.” Extra bonus points for the “retro” film camera he is using. Definitely a classic look. If we had the opportunity to whisper sweet nothings into his ear, we would passionately tell him he needs to wrap his iPhone in a Herringbone Fitted Case. Because you know despite his retro outfit, this dude’s not carrying a pager.

Now, you know most kids these days can work the technology better than we can, and if this young man know as much about his iPod as he does about style, he’s top of the class in our book. Note the Van’s Half Cabs matched with tapered jeans, Van’s checkered shirt and fedora. He tops it all with a white blazer: to homeschool the tyke would be a fashion travesty. You know living in NYC, the kid has got to have an iPhone. For this budding fashionisto, we recommend some sweet protection with a Key Lime Jawbreaker CandyShell Case. No texting in class now kiddo! KTHXBYE!

Lastly, this man is clearly a proFRESHional. Simple lines, sans scarf, topped with a youthful Jonas Brothers-style cut, he could either be going to London to play rhythm guitar with The Verve or to the Trump Tower to present a million dollar ad campaign. But that bag does not look fitting for laptop transport, to our eyes. Whether he is carrying lyrics or paperwork, this guy clearly needs a Coffeehouse Plaid CorePack, for safe, high-fashion toting of his MacBook.

We have a feeling that you know a thing or two about Spexy fashion too! Send photo evidence to amy@speckproducts.com showing us how you accessorize with Speck stuff, and be featured on our blog!
