After a few months the fabric starts to peels off. If you put it in your pocket/car on a hot day it will peel even faster. I've glued the sides but now the back is peeling as well.

Following issues with a Speck CandyShell where the weak point between the dock connector and home button broke after only 5 months normal use I purchased a FabShell Burton Hex for my iPhone 4S in June 2012. As of January 2013, the fabric around the sides of the case started peeling away from the middle bonding layer. Looking front on, the left hand side has complely fallen off and the right hand side is suffering the same fate.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend eiether of these cases as I would not purchase them again. Although they look nice, they are just not up to the job.

Got mine in the Grey Toke Plaid in November 2011. It's been in constant use since then, and I haven't had any issues with the fabric peeling off at all. Also, it started to get pretty dirty, so a couple weeks ago I figured I'd just remove it and scrub it to see what happened. Lo and behold, it came out sparkling clean and like brand new - yay! I just used my kitchen dish brush and a bit of dish soap and warm water. 10 seconds of a light scrubbing and it was back to new. I just let it dry overnight and popped it back on the next morning. This case is worth every penny.

Looks great for about a month then the fabric peels off. Then your left with this sticky mess that collects dirt. Pick something else.

This case is great for protection, and can easily be removed but my case has since peeled off on the sides. Paying that much money for a case for me to have to glue the sides back on is not worth it. Now it looks trashy. I'm just waiting for the back to peel. I've always bought speck but after this mess my next case will be by another company...
Function and Form (For a While)

This guy protected several falls to the concrete for my iPhone 4s. I have no beef with the primary function, that's for sure! The buttons were always a little stiff for my taste.

As for the form... it was fab for a while. Then, like others, the peeling began. No I plan on getting a new, non-fabshell case for my iPhone.

I've had this case for about 6 months, and it's the best case I've had for my iPhone yet. Sure, the stickers might peel off, but that's nothing some glue can't fix. There's been nothing wrong protection-wise, which is what I was really looking for, as I'm pretty clumsy and drop my phone often. I've dropped it numerous times since I've had the case, and not a single scratch has ended up on my phone. The Burton name and design is just an added bonus, even if I do have to use a little glue.

This case doesn't fit my phone - it's like the case is bent. One corner of my phone sticks out. I recommend the fitted two-piece cases over this one piece.

I got my case for Christmas, LOVED it and was totally satisfied. After working all summer, the beautiful, subtle design started literally peeling off. First the sides, then the entire back just came off. I could have glued it back on, but was disappointed nonetheless. I'd get another speck, but not this kind, which is a bummer because they're the best looking ones.

When I saw the "Low Ride Plaid" I knew I wanted it. I got it for christmas and its now August and I am still using it. The case is light, slightly bulky, but still protects really well. The two problems I have are: the words that say "Burton - Speck" on the side are starting to peel & the case is starting to get dirty; because it's fabric obviously its going to start to discolor from being touched so much. Overall though, I am very satisfied with this case and I would definitely buy one again.

Q: Does this case come with a belt clip?

A: No, our FabShell does not come with a belt clip or holster.

Q: Does Speck make iPhone 4S screen films or protectors that will work with this case?

A: Yes! Our ShieldView screen protectors for iPhone 4S are made of cutting-edge low-tack materials, protect from scratches and smudges, and are easy to apply/remove. We also include one bonus back film!

Q: Is the screen protected?

A: The raised front bezel helps protect your screen from coming in contact with other surfaces that might scratch it. If you’d like a screen film that protects your entire screen, check out our totally awesome ShieldView screen films.

Q: Can I use all the features of my iPhone 4S without removing the FabShell case?

A: Yes! We've included rubberized button covers and designed cut-outs for all the iPhone 4S's lenses, speakers, ports, and sensors.

Q: Is this case "dockable" like the CandyShell Grip case?

A: No, however it is cutout around the plug connector, so you can plug it in without removing the case, however it does not allow for docking.

Q: What is the FabShell made of?

A: A: The FabShell has soft rubber corners with a hard plastic outside! The hard shell outside and soft buttons, bezel, and corners are molded together into one case, they do not separate. The soft part of the case and the touch-thru button protectors are made of TPE, the shell is a hard polycarbonate plastic wrapped with tactile, stylin fabric, in original Burton patterns.

Q: Will the FabShell fit my iPhone 4S?

A: Yes! Our FabShell has been measured to have a precise form-fit to the iPhone 4S. Our form-fit FabShell is designed to maintain its precision-fit over time.
