I've been ver happy with my Speck back cover until this week. The small metal band on the back came unglued and lost. Now the Smart Cover won't stay back (this is where the magnet adhered). I must say, I would be disappointed if I'd just gotten it, but since I've had it for 18 months, and used it for several hours a day, I have no such complaints. Well done. I'm off to get another one. Might get a different colour this time....

Degrading After a Year

The product’s exterior coating is degrading after a year of ownership. The coating is slowly peeling from the sides and the overall case is starting to loose its professional appeal. I do not recommend for everyday use and I definitely do not recommend for a power user.

Speck smart cover

I've had one for at least 9 months now, (the clear one) and its served me very well indeed and would recommend to anyone.
I had the belkin cover prior to getting one of these and it just fell to bits. Specks Smartshell is of very good quality, you can feel it and longevity.
im now buying one for my girlfriend to go with the ipad ive bought her for christmas

I bought mine and at this price, I was expecting a higher quality cover. It has three cracks all along the side where the smart cover is put on. Two of the cracks are nothing really but one is really big and I think that it will get bigger and the corner will fall off. But since nobody else seems to have that problem, they are sending me another one for free and I hope it won't crack.

My wife is using the "clear" version of this product. It is very good quality, very rough, thin and at the same time strong plastic.

The only drawback of this clear version is that "dust". It is very much dust magnet. The area between the iPAD and shell is full of dust regularly and it needs cleaning all the time.

If you have a smart cover and only need a back protection, this is a very good product.

Love my Smartshell and have been using it for8 months with my iPad2 and I was very happy to find out that it works great on "The new iPad" (3rd generation!! Awesome!!!!

I have had my speck smartshell for 2 days now and it is fantastic it prevents the back of my iPad from being damaged and works fantastically with the smart cover by apple. I also like how it fits the contours of the iPad brilliantly and has a cutout perfectly engineered to fit every button and port, I also like how it raps round the edges of my iPad and protects them from getting scuffed.
