I broke 2 iPhones before finding this case . I dropped my phone so many times since I got the case and it just bounces : ) I just wish it came in more colors.

Prior to owning the Speck ToughSkin for iPhone 4S, I had a military grade Griffin case but my callers were experiencing an annoying echo. I didn't hear the echo...just my callers. When I removed the case, the callers didn't hear an echo. So, I called Apple. I talked to a rep who told me that this is a known problem with Griffin and suggested Speck. I did as he suggested. Found the ToughSkin for iPhone 4S, ordered it on a Sunday, was STUNNED it shipped the next day and I received it just 3 days after I ordered it. I love the size of the ToughSkin for iPhone 4S (the Griffin case was HUGE!). I also love the fact that I can remove the soft shell if I want (I don't). The ToughSkin for iPhone 4S is just a very comfortable product. I even put it in my pocket and while the soft shell case does tend to peel off, that's no big deal. Just pull it back where it started coming off. No worries. I don't care for the belt holster and don't really use it. I am very pleased with the ToughSkin for iPhone 4S as well as my entire experience with the Speck company!

As soon as I knew I was purchasing an Iphone, I knew I wanted a case that would protect my investment. This case is the best!! The combination of the inner shell and the outer rubber covering keeps my phone safe. I have been careful not to drop my phone, but it happens regardless. Never a dent, scratch or break anywhere on my phone. Couldn't ask for a better device to keep my phone protected.

Weak Spot - Still Good

My wife got me this case when she also got me my iPhone last September 2012. I guess being a military guy she figure out it will need a lot of protection an she was right. I like the case, and the shock absorbent rubber cover had protected my iPhone numerous time. But the soft area of the rubber around the camera area is falling apart. The phone is still protected from falls and impact and cover in this area really don't protect much even when it was new. But overall is a good case and I like the easy in an out of the clip. The clip is made to release if too much force is apply before it breaks. I think is a good idea, I had hit the case a couple of time against a corner or the outside rear view mirrors and there goes my phone flying. I pick it up , snap the clip back on and good as new. I recommended to others. Now I still have to see how good they are in reference to their warranty, and see if I get a replacement for my cover. I will let you know!

Inner Plastic Case Broke Quickly

I regularly have to take off the rubber outer case of this case in order to use my phone in by Bose Player. The top right-hand corner of the plastic inner case snags every time and broke off within 2 months of this use. I am not rough when removing the outer case, so this was clearly a weakness in the design. Now, though I can still use the outer rubber case, one corner of my phone is unprotected by the inner case. I would not recommend this case for this reason.

bought this case after purchasing new iPhone and dropped old Palm too many times until cracking the face. Well, for the initial 45 bucks at the apple store in pasadena at time of purchase, the case was carried out to me by the sales person and I was instantly hooked by the look of it - it looks like a phone out of some sci-fi movie!
Well, it wasn't long before I dropped my new 400 dollar iphone and it kind of jittered along the floor. Of course I cringed the first few times I dropped i; learning how to handle the slightly rubbery and bulky feel of this speck case takes a bit of getting-used-to.
The clip came off after about six months, but only after I began to wear it on my belt and often forgot to take it off when getting in my truck. I discovered the clip does not like too much force and appears to be designed to separate itself upon too much stress. I carry the phone differently so that the clip is not suseptible to separation, and it's only clipped on my belt to temporarily store it away from my hands or pocket or storage at home/truck.
I'd recommend this to anyone who has broken their smart phone and are as risk-prone and hard-working as myself.

Firstly, I'm extremely satisfied with this case. I've had it for a couple years now, and it's still good as new! A little expensive off the cuff, but it'll last, trust me. I've dropped it countless times, and it has more than done its job. The rubber outer case doesn't stretch out like some other rubber cases. It can also be taken off easily so you can slip it into a tight pocket with just the hard inner case.
That being said, I don't use the clip at all. It works perfectly without it, and it has been useful on occasion, but it's way too bulky for everyday. Also, it collects some dust in the 'treads', but it comes off with just water (off the phone of course). The only other real complaint I have is that it's a little sticky in your pocket, in that it'll sometimes turn your pocket inside out when you pull it out. But it really isn't a big deal.

Overall, HIGHLY recommended case. Great manly case, way cheaper than other cases of similar protection levels, and it can morph between slim and protective in an instant.

You should make one for the iphone 5 and the ipad mini. This is the best case ever. Everyone that has seen it asks me how to get one. They all think it's otter box, but no it Speck. It is accident proof protection.

Redesign of the holster clip

After reading the reviews if the holster clip design is a failure then the standard need to change to a new model like the blackberry holster clip. Forget about the kick stand.

When I received the case, I could instantly tell it would be too bulky to carry around unless you use the clip. After using it for a while, I knew I was right. The soft rubber outer skin was constantly peeling off in my pockets because it was a really loose fit, I usually just had the thin plastic shell by itself. Yes the case will help break the phones fall if you have the rubber skin on it, but It really was impractical to wear a belt clip with it.
