I bought this case for my new macbook and after 2 weeks of having it, the two back pieces of the case broke off because they are too small and can't handle anything. I carry my computer in a case and practically baby it. I would like the product better if the plastic was a little better and wider on the back pieces.

I ordered the peacock color which appeared blue on the website and it turned out to be turquoise. So I decided to put on my macbook thinking maybe the color will change to blue but nope! still the same. I spent about 30 minutes to take it off with piece of cloth so I could return it but I ended up cracking one of the corners.
I don't recommend buying this shell at ALL!

it is a very nice case with soft touches and protective layer but the computer does seem to be a bit thicker. it is definitely recommended to those who tend to leave stuff on top of the computer so the case can protect the computer from scratches. other than that if you are extremely careful with your computer and want to give it some color then you should consider a decal.

I got this case earlier this year as a present for my birthday , i also noticed i had a friend who had the same case and color as me. He had gotten it couple months before me and i have seen it before hand too. I personally think it is great quality and a great fit for the computer, Id even say its the best case so far in my eyes. I really like that smooth feel on the case as well as the hard shell plastic to protect from any scratches. I highly recomend this case for anyone looking for a nice smooth stylish feel as well as a nice general coating of protection. But i can tell you one thing, this is not made for dropping or dealing hard around with. It will obviously break if you drop it on a hard surface, this goes to all the negative feedbacks from other users. I had no problem till this very day and think nobody will if you use it normally and not like a monkey would. Another thing i noticed is the price, i think it is a little too much for a piece of plastic to cover up your device, max i would pay is $30 on one, but it is a gift and i won't complain :)

I bought this case about a year ago. About three months ago the tabs on the rear of the bottom piece broke off - this disables the case from doing its job. The case begins to slide off at any point when you grip it wrong and essentially it becomes useless. This was something I was aware of and took a shot at it. This "damage" or weak design results in broken tabs pretty quickly. I wish that I would not have to spend $50 every time a tab breaks.

Other than that, I really like the finish, the message it sends to other people and the amount of customization available. The case could be priced lower at 30 bucks and then it could be worth it with the design flaws. I will end up buying another case from them but hope that I can hit a discount or two. Another $50 I don't want to spend.

Not sure why so many complain about this cover being poor quality? It fits my MBP-R perfect and seems to be a durable designed case. Those who say it breaks easy must be rough with their MacBooks. Only way it could break is if it's being thrown or bumped around on something. I would highly recommend this cover.

My wife gave this to me for Christmas last year. I cleaned my computer and snapped the shell onto my computer. It seemed to fit well, the shell didn't interfere with the lid opening. Now, I take my computer out of the house maybe twice a week and it's in a ridiculously well padded messenger bag. The rest of the time it usually sits on my ottoman.

Taking that into mind, I'm sure you can imagine my surprise when I picked my computer up off the ottoman and it broke. The back corner near the MagSafe port snapped off and dropped onto the floor, and all I did was pick up my computer.

I'm just outside of the warranty. I wanted the SeeThru shell because I figured it would be more robust than the SmartShell. I suppose Speck wasn't banking on people actually LIFTING the computer after they put a case on it. I've never dropped this thing, I had never taken the shell off my computer.

I've had their cell phone cases. This was not the same quality. Bottom line; don't waste your money.
