I had the MBA version of this case and even with careful use, it started to crack at the corners in less than 6 months. The RMA is not really worth the hassle as you still have to ship back the part. Fast forward to a year and half and the case is barely staying at the bottom... The top part is OK actually.

Overall it's very disappointing as the product is actually pretty good but poor choice in material that cannot stand up to heat from the unit leads to something that's more or less disposable.

I love the look and light weight. However, mine broke on corner and has developed a crack after several months. My computer is used for home, so it is not moved around too frequently.
I will order another only because of fit and look. It is a little pricy.

Tabs on the bottom shell cracked off after a year and a half. This is due to the pressure when the laptop is closed. Not the best design.

I've gone through two of these in <1 year. The area around the rear foot pads cracked on both; and even now my husband has a RMA to Speck for the same exact issue for his.

None of our Speck cases have lasted more than 6 months and we are very careful with our electronics.

Cracks and deteriorates within a week. The wort disappointment ever. Great design poor selection of material. About as durable as an egg shell. Sorry, but true.

I just read the customer reviews and it seems I am not the only one with the base cracking around the edges. I wander if SPECK knows and is willing to do something about a serious problem for a well priced item. What would APPLE think??

The first case I have bought for my laptop that is light, and looks good. I actually feel like I am protecting my laptop in style. Would prefer a cheaper price.

Was really looking forward to having the speck SeeThru SATIN work for my MacBook Air, but the case cracked (without any drops) in a few locations enough that it does not stay on the MBA properly. Bummed. :(

A: This SeeThru SATIN for MacBook Air 11" and 13" hard shell was engineered specifically to fit onto the MacBook Air 11" and 13" respectively.

Q: Will a SeeThru SATIN case cause my computer to overheat?

A: Nope! Our cases work with your computer's internal cooling system to keep your MacBook Air cool and safe. There are ventilation slots on the bottom of the case designed specifically for this purpose.

Q: What is it made of?

A: SeeThru SATIN for MacBook Air is made of our special hard polycarbonate plastic with an added soft-touch rubberized exterior coating to give it a silky and grippy feel.

Q: Can I use all the features of my MacBook Air without removing the case?

A: Our design lets you open and close your notebook all the way, and access all keys, sensors, ports and plugs and buttons through specifically-engineered cutouts.

Q: Can I be notified if a color or item is out of stock?

A: Yes. Just go to the page for the product style and color you want and hit the “Out of Stock NOTIFY ME” button.

Q: I just got one of the new June 2013 MacBook Air models. Will your current SeeThru cases fit?

A: We’re currently adjusting our cases to accommodate the just-introduced 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air models. Once they’re ready with the protection and fit you expect from Speck, we’ll post information on our SeeThru SATIN for MacBook Air product pages. You can also sign up for email updates on our homepage.

Q: When will cases for the June 2013 MacBook Air models be ready?

A: We’re as anxious to get our cases on the new MacBook Air models as you are. We should have them shipping by the end of June.

A: All genuine Speck cases designed for late-2010 and newer MacBook Air models will fit, including cases designed for the June 2013 models. Our cases only require a slight modification to accommodate two small changes on the new MacBook Air models. This modification will not affect the protection and fit of our cases on previous models.
