Holds in the iPad 4 very well in place, I didn't worry about it falling out. Was worried about the hinge and how long it'd hold up, but it was very sturdy and held its place. You find yourself handling the tablet in ways you didn't think you would and it makes using the tablet that much more comfortable.. I tried all the ways of using and handling it in their commercial video and its just awesome. I previously used the Joby GorillaMobile Yogi and the HandyShell is much lighter. However, the thing that made me send this back was the lack of landscape orientation options. If you can live without that and the lack of color choices, I really recommend this case. Also, if you're that worried about your screen then I suggest the Zagg Hd screen protector, or the one by Skinomi. I have done well with those other products. I've since gone with the ZeroChroma Vario-SC in black, they have white as well. Got it for $30 at Best Buy local (it's a $50 product, I got lucky). I hope this helps.

..the cap over the screws falls off and needs to be super-glued! I have two iPads and two of these cases. The cap fell off on both, but luckily I found it each time. I got my glue and glued it back on, being careful to do two things: stay away from the hinge, and make sure the two screws were also glued to prevent them from working loose.

There was a difference between the older case and the newer one. On the newer one, there was transparent goopy stuff (tech term!) over the screws. Perhaps this had been added to keep the cap from falling off. It didn't work. And on this case, the handle had become a bit loose, but the slots of the screws were filled with the goop.

After about half an hour of scraping the goop out of the screws, mostly using nail scissors , I was able to tighten them enough using a combination of tools -- tiny screwdriver, and the scissors. I then gave the case the super glue treatment, and I've been using it now for a number of months without any further problems.

This case is terrific, but does need a better approach to that cap over the screws! I hope it doesn't go out of production.

I really like the feel and the functionality of the Handyshell case but the handle cover first came off within the first week. The small piece that covers the screws and hinge. After 5 months the handle finally broke off. I will look for a replacement one on sale and buy it again because the built in stand/handle is great.

The handle is the best allows for use in all angles in portrait and landscape mode! Use the handle all the time to carry it. I get so many compliments on the case! But I only gave it 4 stars for quality because the piece covering the crews by the handle popped off. But I've had this case for about 4 months now. I would definitely recommend it! Especially for people who use their iPads in bed! Worth every penny!

Great case, had mine for 18 months, , good fit, loop is handy to hang in bathroom stall. Sadly, it is way over priced.
